Rescuing a first-person diary archive written between 2001 and 2005 and rebuilding it as a warm, editable memorial CMS.
A cat diary — dozens of first-person entries from 2001 to 2005, plus reflections — survived only in a legacy blog table and scattered web archives, at real risk of being lost. The work was to recover that content faithfully and give it a durable, editable home without flattening its original voice.
Content was migrated verbatim from the authoritative legacy blog table and reconciled against Wayback Machine recoveries, then modeled as diary entries, reflections, and a cast of characters on the generic content engine — with the same schema-driven admin CMS (rich-text editing, CSRF protection, login lockout) used across AzDesign sites.
The full archive — original titles, dates, and voice preserved exactly — now lives in an editable keepsake site the family can keep adding to, cross-linked with a companion memorial.
